Period products for people who need them.

Access Period provides free menstrual products across Nebraska and surrounding communities through Access Points, Community Partners, and Schools.

We know what it costs to go without.

Period products are expensive, and the cost adds up every month for as long as someone menstruates. When people can't afford them, they miss school. They miss work. They use products longer than they should, or they use things that were never meant to manage a period at all. Asking for help with something this personal is hard, and for a lot of people, that's the biggest barrier of all.

We started Access Period because period products are a basic need, not a luxury, and no one should have to choose between buying them and paying for something else.

A community that shows up.

Since 2022, Access Period has distributed more than 5 million period products to more than 85,000 people, reaching communities across Nebraska and surrounding areas through Access Points, Community Partners, and schools. We do this with two full-time staff, a community of generous donors, business partners, advocates, and close to 2,500 volunteers each year.

How it works:

Find an Access Point near you and pick up products during their business hours.

Connect with one of our Community Partners already serving your area.

Request products directly from us if their option is within reach.

There are no forms to prove need and no criteria to meet. If you live in our service area and would benefit from free period products, you qualify.

Our Approach

People are inherently dignified. We don't give people dignity by providing period products, dignity is already theirs. What we do is remove a barrier that gets in the way of people living their lives fully, at school, at work, and everywhere in between.

Values

Our work gives people Access. We make period products available to everyone, no matter their location, income level, or circumstance.

We fight for people's Opportunity to build the life they deserve. We remove barriers to participation in everyday life caused by period poverty so everyone can live out their full potential.

We work to destigmatize periods, advocate for change, and engage in conversations that create Visibility. Period poverty can only be eradicated if we can mention periods and the people who have them.
